Missouri Supplement Guaranteed Issue Rules
You can change your Medigap policy to another insurance company without having to answer health questions up to 30 days before and ending 30 days after your policy’s annual anniversary date in the state of Missouri. You must change to the same policy letter designation to avail yourself of this rule. Furthermore, this rule does not apply to all Medigap policies but instead to policy letters A, B, D, F, G, K or L sold in Missouri by any insurance company. When you are initially signing up for a Medicare Supplement policy and you are weighing the policy letter options, please note that not all letters are covered by this rule and you will potentially be “stuck” later on. A very common choice amongst Medicare Supplement policy holders is an N policy, but this policy letter does NOT provide you with the guaranteed issue capability so choose wisely.
Household Premium Discount - A discount that some states allow provides a reduction of Medicare supplement premiums if the policyholder resides with another adult or spouse. There are state requirements that must be met to qualify for this discount. Policyholders should review their policy for details and restrictions. Some carriers provide the discount by simply sharing a household with another adult while others require both adults to be policyholders.
