MEDICARE PART D PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLANS - CHANGES AND GUIDANCE
Changes* made to our Part D Prescription Drug Plan Analysis and Service
(No changes for Medicare Advantage plans or Medicare Supplements)
At Joseph Financial, LLC, we have been with you through the years to guide, service, and take the weight off your mind for Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans. During the Annual Enrollment Period, we reached out to you, analyzed your unique situation, and showed you the best-fitting Prescription Drug Plans available. We'd help you enroll, and we'd be here all throughout the year to answer questions and provide support.
Unfortunately, the Prescription Drug Plan Carriers are no longer compensating us to service your plans. As of this writing on June 16, 2026, there are only two carriers we can offer clients. That's no choice at all and, truthfully, would be a disservice to many of our clients who have trusted us to make the right suggestions for them throughout the years. Because of this, we are no longer offering any Part D Prescription Drug Plan analyses during AEP and we will discontinue servicing existing plans.*
You can still determine if you're in the best plan. We've put together a short guide on how to look up Prescription Drug Plans during the Annual Enrollment Period using Medicare.gov. Please see below, after the list of clarifications and exceptions.
*Clarifications and Exceptions:
- Please note this does not affect Medicare Advantage Plan members.
- We will still perform an analysis for clients who are starting Medicare for the first time.
- Clients in our Managed Account fee-based investment program will not be affected by this change. Joe is willing to absorb the cost of your analysis and continued service.
How to find Part D Prescription Drug plan options on Medicare.gov during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
1. Follow the link below by clicking the blue "Look for a Part D Plan" button.
2. Under "Continue without logging in", input your zip code and press "Continue". (You may be prompted to choose your county as well.)
3. Choose "Medicare Drug Plan (Part D)" and press "Find Plans".
4. You are now asked if you receive any type of aid with your Part D plan. Most people will choose "I don't get help from any of these programs". If you're unsure about your situation, click "Learn more about these programs". Otherwise, make your choice and click "Continue".
5. You are now asked if you'd like to see your drug costs when you compare plans. If you do not take any prescriptions medication, choose "No". If you do take prescription medication, choose "Yes". Click "Continue".
6. Now you can either choose a plan (if you have no prescriptions), or input your medications.
7. Choose where you'd like to pick up prescriptions. Some pharmacies are "preferred" by carriers, so we recommend you include a few of the popular options:
- Mail Order
- CVS (includes standalone and Schnuck's locations)
- Walgreens
- Costco
- Walmart/Sam's
- Mercy (inside Dierberg's)
Choose up to 5 pharmacies and click "Continue to View Plans".
8. This is where you'll need to do some analysis work of your own. The list of available plans is ordered by estimated annual retail cost. To view more specific information, click on "Plan Details". Scroll down to see your prescription costs for each pharmacy.
9. Happy Hunting!
